March 2002 – Scott marries Eliza.

Two years after marriage – Scott is often ill, and is hospitalized for up to two weeks at a time.

July 24, 2004 - Their son Logan is born.

September 5, 2004 – Scott suffers an unknown brain injury while home alone with his wife and son.  Scott is taken to the ER at Memorial Hospital.  He is taken into surgery and his brain is operated on.  The surgeon indicates that the trauma to Scott’s head is not consistent with a standing fall.  Scott’s injuries are deemed too severe to have occurred in that way.  Scott lays in a coma for several weeks.  Doctors tell his family that he may not live and that, if he does live, he will be in a vegetative state with no "quality of life".

While Scott is still is the ICU, Eliza stuns Pamela with the statement that "I can stop you from ever seeing Scott again, if I want to."

Eliza begins to cut back her hours working for Pamela.

After about three weeks in the ICU, a second scan is requested by Scott’s mom – the scan comes back saying there is no damage to the brain stem.

October 18, 2004 - Scott is taken to Kindred Hospital.

October 27 and 28, 2004 – Eliza tells doctors she wants hospice to take Scott if he is not better in two weeks, but then on the 30th she talks with the doctors again about taking Scott to the hospice.

November 1, 2004 – Eliza talks again to doctors about sending him to a hospice.

Early November - Eliza quits her job working for Pamela.

November 11, 2004 – Scott’s mom, Pamela, is told that Scott will be taken to a hospice on or around the 12th.  Pamela contacts an attorney and on the 12th Judge William Wilkes gives Pamela emergency guardianship.

November 23, 2004 – Pamela takes Scott home to her house to care for him.

January, 2005 – Pamela is given temporary plenary (complete) guardianship.  She continues to work with him, preparing him for a time of rehabilitation at Brooks Rehab.

Late March, 2005 – Scott becomes an inpatient at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital.

April, 2005 - Scott begins hyperbaric therapy with Dr. Murray.

Late May, 2005 – Scott is discharged from Brooks Rehab, continues hyperbaric, shows great improvement.

June 7, 2005 – Pamela takes Scott to Clearwater for a week with Dr. Hammesfahr, begins nitrogen cream treatment, magnesium injections.

July 18, 2005 – Temporary plenary guardianship is renewed and investigations continue to try to determine how Scott was injured.

As of August 9, 2005 – Scott is at home under the care and protection of his mother and day by day he continues to recover.

The next guardianship hearing is scheduled for sometime in January, 2006.

November 2005 - EEG shows large, bright red trauma area.

January 3, 2006 - Pamela is given another 6 months of guardianship, with a new hearing scheduled for July 2006.

March 2006 - A new EEG is done - showing the trauma area to be half the size as before, and light pink instead of red!
